Frankly after only 5 hrs of sleep, I am toast! My head is floating and I can't remember a thing. I was on the way upstairs to get something and forgot about halfway up. Then I remembered and then forgot again before I touched the top stair! Now, if you know me, I usually have a good memory and today's episode on the staircase is NOT ME! I am just so tired and weary, which made me think of the song;
"Every Promise in the Book"
Every promise in the Book is mine
Every chapter, every verse, every line
All the blessings of His love divine
Every promise in the Book is...
Mine, mine, mine
Jesus is mine
Mine when I'm weary
Mine when I'm cheery
Mine, mine, mine, mine
Jesus is Mine
Jesus is Mine all the time
Now, I must have been on the brink of delirium, but when that song went through my mind, all I could see with my eyes opened, mind you, was the picture of the Sistine Chapel. Yes, that's right! I was seeing the beautiful work of Michelangelo swirling above my head.( I think it had something to do with Spring chicken's schoolwork and the extensive study of Raphael that she was doing. And that Raphaels work mimiced Micaelangelos who complained about it after his death.) Angels, yes, and lots of them. It was a wonderful sight and then I blinked and it was all over. So, I think with that I am going to go and take a quick nap before the baby wakes up!
I'm not sure I'll be able to drive later without one!

God so loved the world, He gave His only Son, to die on Calvary, from sin, to set me free. One day He's coming back, what glory that will be, Wonderful His love to me.
Did you sing it with all these transitions, or just the two songs? I'm trying to figure out where this medley came from.

But until then my heart will go on singing, until then with joy I’ll carry on, until the day, my eyes behold the city, until the day God calls me home
What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, when I look upon his face, the one who saved me by his grace, when he takes me by the hand and leads me through the promised land, what a day glorious day that will be
Hi I heard this same medley of songs in the Philippines in 2007 when I was doing missionary work. The young people would sing it, but it had a different order of songs and some different songs included in it from what you listed.
It went the same - starting off with every
promise in the Book is mine, then went to Mine, mine, mine, Jesus is mine then on to Wonderful.... Wonderful is my Redeemer, praise His name, then on to His name is Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know, fills my ever longing, keeps me singing as I go... Go tell it on the mountain over the hills and everywhere, Go, go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born,
Then it goes on to For We'll be dwelling together, how happy we will be through all eternity, for we'll be dwelling together my Lord and I ...
Then it goes to .... I shall not be, I shall not be moved, I shall not be, I shall not be moved, just like a tree that's planted by the waters, i shall not be moved.
This Medley can be found in "Christian Kids Alive" on Spotify, the music platform, there is a collection of Medley songs and they sound very very old vintage, beautifully sung by children. Hope this helps someone. David
When I was a child we use to sing this 'run-on'of choruses as one continuous song:
Every promise in the Book is mine
Every chapter, every verse, every line
All the blessings of His love divine
Every promise in the Book is...
Mine, mine, mine
Jesus is mine
Mine when I'm weary
Mine when I'm cheery
Mine, mine, mine,
Jesus is Mine
Jesus is always...
Wonderful, wonderful, Jesus is to me,
Counselor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God is He,
Saving me, keeping me, from all sin and shame,
Wonderful is my redeemer praise His name...
And that's enough to make me sing,
and that's enough to make me sing.
My sins are all forgiven and I'm on my way to Heaven,
and that's enough to make me:
Sing on in sunny days, sing on in darkened ways;
Sing on my comrade, sing on my comrade;
Sing on His name is love,
Sing on He reigns above,
Sing, sing,sing!
Chorus:
In my hear there rings a melody, there rings a melody of heavenly harmony,
In my heart there rings a melody there rings a melody of love....
Jesus Jesus Jesus sweetest name I know....fills with with his longing keeps me singing as I go....
delightful page...keep singing
Thanks, everyone, for bringing back childhood memories! This morning the song "Every Promise..." surfaced as I was meditating on the Word of God. So I began looking up the lyrics on Google and wrote down the chorus. THEN out of the distant past the next set of words surfaced: "Mine, mine, mine...." After typing those words into Google, this blog came up. Thanks again. What a rich feast from my childhood! I am so rich with old AND new treasures! What fun to be part of the family of God! \o/
I was singing only the last part "and that's enough to make me sing", my granddaughters just love it and I couldn't remember the rest, now I do, thank you for putting the lyrics here.
We sing this song often with our church, especially at camp outs. Love it!
We are usually doing it at
Every promise in the Book is mine
Every chapter, every verse, every line
All the blessings of His love divine
Every promise in the Book is...
Mine, mine, mine
Jesus is mine
Mine when I'm weary
Mine when I'm cheery
Mine, mine, mine, mine
Jesus is Mine
Jesus is Mine all the time he is
Wonderful, Wonderful, Jesus is to me,
Counselor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God is he,
Saving me, Keeping me, from all sin and shame
Wonderful is my Redeemer, Praise His Name.
For we will be dwelling together,
How happy we will be throughout eternity,
For we will be dwelling together,
My Lord and I,
O that will be glory for me
Glory for me, Glory for me
When by His grace I shall look on His face
that will be glory, be glory for me!
After myy Lord and I -- I love Him better every day, I love Him better every day , Close by his side I will abide, I love Him better -- every day with Jesus, is sweeter than the day before, every day with Jesus, I love Him more and more, Jesus saves and keeps me, and He's the one I'm waiting for, Every day with Jesus, is sweeter than the day before. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives, all fear is gone; because I kno-w He holds the future, and life is worth the living, just because He lives.
Enjoy singing His praise !!!
Apparently this medley has taken many forms. I remember it this way:
Every promise in the book is mine.
Every chapter, every verse, every line.
All the blessings of his love, divine.
Every Promise in the book is ...
Mine mine mine, Jesus is mine.
Mine when I'm weary,
Mine when I'm cheery.
Mine mine mine, Jesus is mine.
Mine all the time he's ...
Wonderful, Wonderful, Jesus is to me.
Counselor, Prince of Peace, Mighty God is He.
Saving me, Keeping me, from all sin and shame.
Wonderful is my redeemer ...
Praise him. Praise him.
Praise him in the morning.
Praise him in the noon time.
Praise him. Praise him.
Praise him when the sun goes ...
Down in the dumps I'll never go.
That's where the Devil keeps me low.
So I'll pray with all my might.
To keep my onward sight.
Down in the dumps I'll never go.
This is the one we sang in the '70s. I was searching for it.
This is the way I learned it! Thank you for all the lyrics. I teach Preschool Choir at my church and I want to teach them this song.
